as you know i've returned to work part time on a phased rtw plan.
well friday i have a meeting with personnel to have a review and
check out vacancies etc.. well i've done everything they ask me to do
even though some of it as resulted in pain like yesterday did the whole of
my shift (4 hrs less a break) on my old department and today i'm very
sore and stiff.
so the only place i can work without too much trouble is upstairs in the offices
and i know there is nothing there or on the checkouts.
i'm a bit concerned that there will be no job for me or the hours will be at
stuip o'clock.
the main concern and question would be do they have to give me a job ( i
have worked for them for 13 years) and can they ask me to work strange
hours ie. early mornings or late nights. they are a 24 hour operation.
any advise would be helpfull.

Hello there Lynne,
I will be thinking of you tomorrow Lynne, i know from personal experience how stressful these meetings can be including the time leading up to the meeting xx
Ive already written you a really long post but managed to lose the WHOLE lot as i was trying to add a link....:( ....... so this is the very speedy and not quite so eloquent / completely re-hashed version before i go off to work myself.... hope it makes some sense xx
Has your employer considered all reasonable adjustments under the rules of the Disability Discrimination Act? AND have you had an Access to Work assessment? These are essential to ensure you have the best possible chance of remaining in a a workplace that is deemed suited to your needs and as employers have a legal obligation to comply with the D.D.A.
Even if these have been done, tomorrow's review needs to be considering if there is anything else that can be reasonably adjusted to make things more suitable for you.Can you think of anything more that would help, ready to discuss tomorrow?
Re redeployment - employers should be offering hours that will not have a negative effect and potential for further detrimental health effects - this could contravene their legal responsibilities. Hence my query about reasonable adjustments....
If i was you i would make a list of negotiations and topics to discuss..... i always do this now ever since i became too upset (and annoyed) to speak at one meeting and ended up just handing over my notes (insisting they gave me the original back after they had photocopied it......) Things are somewhat better now, good luck with yours tomorrow xx

I have found this is a REALLY useful website: including some info about redeployment etc xx

Hooray! Managed not to lose it this time! :)

Love and hugs ~ will be with you in thoughts!
